There are two bands which sold me on high quality rock music = Tool and A Perfect Circle. Led by the same lead singer in both bands, James Maynard Keenan has the voice and style that other rockers only dream of. He doesn’t even look like he’s trying. Very little ego on stage and he nails every performance.

This song by A Perfect Circle is something I listened to during my first years of college. It was something that just spoke to me. Here’s some lyrics from the track:

Douwayra

This is one of my all time favorite tracks from Senegalese singer Baaba Maal. It’s a very laid back tune with not only his amazing voice, but a group of amazing voices on the chorus.

Bamboo Banga

M.I.A. takes us into a musical space and environment that is totally new and unique. Though it is familiar enough for you to grasp and start dancing to. The drums and beats she chooses for each of her songs work so well.

I’m Gonna Be

Donell Jones rips it on his track. Sometimes when I hear Ne-Yo and other younger R&B singers, they remind me of Donell.

Course Language

So I’ve already posted a song by this very talented emcee already. But this song from his new album really hits home for me. I’m ecstatic that he brought in a female vocalist who could turn it up!

Bejoy Philip lights it up on this track in which he teams up with Kelly Kelz & True Story.
